Biography

Ronald Squires, MD, Medical Director of the Breast Leadership Group of the Oklahoma Breast Health Institute since 2012 and Professor in the Department of Surgery, has been a member of the University of Oklahoma faculty since 1994. Dr. Squires is Board Certified in Surgery by the American Board of Medical Specialties and has published multiple scientific articles and book chapters covering a range of surgical diseases and their treatments. Dr. Squires has served in multiple state and national leadership positions including serving as program chairman for the Southwestern Surgical Congress, chairman of the Committee on Applicant for the American College of Surgeons from 2005-2014, develops questions for the United States Medical Licensing Examination, and has served as an examiner for the American Board of Surgery. A graduate of the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Dr. Squires completed his residency in surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where he was awarded the Lloyd and Ruth Rader award for being the Outstanding Senior Resident on the OU Health Science Center Campus in 1994. Dr. Squires also was a National Institutes of Health Research Scholar at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation from 1990-1992. Since 2005, Dr. Squires has devoted his entire surgical practice to the care of benign and malignant diseases of the breast.
