A graduate of McGill’s Faculty of Medicine, I completed my residency in General Surgery at McGill. I then completed successive 2-year Fellowships: in Surgical Oncology Research in Boston (New England Deaconess Hospital) and in Clinical Surgical Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. I have been at McGill since 1994, and I am presently a tenured Professor of Surgery and Oncology. I was Program Director of General Surgical Oncology and then General Surgery. I then completed 2 terms as Associate Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education. I have been Director of the Breast Center of the MUHC since 2006 and co-Director of the Medical Advisory Board of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation since 2012. A past Governor of the American College of Surgeons and former member of both the Committee on Medical Student Education and the Committee on Resident Education. I presently sit on the EPA Advisory Council of the American Board of Surgery.
