Dr Sarap is the senior surgeon in a three person group in Cambridge, Ohio that supports a hospital based Wound Clinic and vascular lab, a nationally acclaimed colorectal cancer screening initiative, student surgical clerkship rotations, surgical resident rotations and a COC approved Cancer Program that includes an added approval in Breast Cancer Care. The group is very active in the fields of general, vascular, thoracic and trauma surgery and endoscopy. Dr. Sarap is an ATLS Instructor, Chair of the ACS Advisory Council on Rural Surgery and is Ohio CoC Physician Liaison Program Co-Chairman. Sarap serves on the Board of the local hospital, SE Med, and the local Hospice organization and is Chair of the local community cancer coalition. He has twice been awarded the Commission on Cancer "Cancer Liaison Physician Outstanding Performance Award". Community recognition includes local newspaper "Person of the Year", American Cancer Society Volunteer of the Year and the Chamber of Commerce Sidlo Award of Excellence for Vision, Leadership and Legacy. In 2013 and 2014 he was awarded the President's Award by the local Am Cancer Society chapter ('13) and the Excellence in Mission Award by the regional ACS division ('13 and '14). Sarap was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Ohio Chapter American College of Surgeons in 2014. Sarap has presented topics at the National Commission on Cancer Meeting, American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Congress, Grant Medical Center Trauma Care Symposium and the Ohio Pediatric Trauma Symposium. The surgeon gives numerous talks yearly on Leadership, Cancer Prevention and Treatment, Rural Surgery, Wound Care, Vascular Disease, Trauma Care and Surgical Diseases.
