Biography

Completed Medical School in December 1968 at the age of 24 from University of Kerala - Medical College Trivandrum - India. From February 1969 to February 1970 did Internship and from March 1970 to April 1973 did Residency in Surgery (Post Graduate Course in Surgery)at the Medical College Hospitals of Trivandrum. On completion of Medical School I was awarded M.B;B.S.(equivalent to M.D.) and following Residency I received M.S.(Master of Surgery) - Equivalent Board Certification in Surgery. From 1973 to 1976 I was a faculty member of Dept. of Surgery of University of Kerala as Lecturer and Assistant Professor. In 1976 I migrated to USA and did Residency in Surgery from July 1976 to June 1981 at New York Medical College affiliated hospital- St.Clare's Hospital,( not St.Vincent's Hospital) as well as at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY. During Chief Residency I was Clinical Instructor in Surgery at New York Medical College. July 1981 I moved to Louisiana and started private practice in Surgery. My practice is in Acadia and Vermilion parishes (counties)of Louisiana and has offices in Crowley and Kaplan - small towns of Louisiana. I am the senior attending surgeon of Acadia General Hospital, Crowley, LA and Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital, Kaplan, LA. I am a devout husband, father and grand father. We Live in rural Louisiana with my wife Annie. We have two children and they live out of state with their families. We have eight grand children. My Christian (catholic) upbringing may reflect in my practice. Also I attempt to abide by the principles of Hippocratic Oath which we sworn on the first day of Medical School. I am committed to be the best I can be in my profession according to my abilities. In my practice I give maximum effort to help the fellow human beings during the vulnerable time of their life. I want to be the best advocate for them, most of all I try not to do any harm to them. God Bless my patients.
