I am a board certified hand surgeon practicing in rural Illinois (Effingham). I received my medical education in Egypt followed by Orthopedic Residency in Cairo then a General surgery residency at St. Louis University Hospitals. My hand fellowship was at University of Colorado Health center in Denver. My practice is limited to hand and wrist surgery. I am currently the President-Elect for the American Association for Hand Surgery and a Past President of the American Society for Peripheral Nerve. I also write a periodic column for our local newspaper dealing with many issues mostly non-medical. I love reading, music, travel and knowledge. I like to learn something new every day if I can. I am married and have 2 children: Ramez, an author and a futurist and Mary who is a general surgeon . We have one grandchild Benjamin, 9 months.
