Ronald Maier, MD FACS

I am a General Surgeon with specialty focus in Critical Surgical Illness, including Trauma, Emergency General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. In addition, I provide care broadly for Surgical Disease including biliary, intestinal / colonic and anorectal. I have been involved in education and training having cocreated the Harborview Injury Prevention Center and an associated MPH program, and founded the long standing Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Washington. My research involved elucidating and modulating the aberrant host immunoinflammatory response following severe injury and stress leading to Multiple Organ Failure.
