The Surgeon Well-Being Coalition brings together surgical societies and organizations to promote and advocate for healthy, sustainable systems and practices that foster well-being in day-to-day life and beyond crisis management.
This Playbook was created by the Surgeon Well-Being Coalition as a resource for surgeons to champion the design and implementation of peer support programs in their specific location/program/hospital.
Led by the Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation, “The Wellbeing First Champion Challenge” program supports licensure boards, health systems, medical groups, health plans, and professional liability insurance companies in auditing and revising their licensing and credentialing applications to be free of intrusive mental health questions and stigmatizing language.
