John M. Daly, MD, FACS Traveling Fellowship

The American College of Surgeons offers the John M. Daly, MD, FACS Traveling Fellowship to an outstanding young surgeon and ACS Fellow in any of the surgical subspecialties with a demonstrated and keen interest in the treatment of cancer patients, with the opportunity to attend and participate in the educational activities of the ACS annual Clinical Congress and additionally to travel to academic medical institutions in the USA to share knowledge of best practices and current surgical research.

Eligibility
  • Applicant must be less than 45 years of age at the time the completed application is submitted.
  • Applicant must be a Fellow in good standing of the American College of Surgeons.
  • Applicant demonstrates a keen interest in treating cancer patients through their practice and/or research.
Basic Requirements
  • Applicants must submit a fully completed application form. Submission of a curriculum vitae is not sufficient.
  • Applicants must provide a list of all their publications.
  • Applicants must submit independently prepared letters of recommendation from three of their colleagues. Letters of recommendation should be submitted by the person making the recommendation.
  • The award recipient will provide a 500-word summary of their experience. The report will be shared with the family of Dr. John M. Daly and may be published on the ACS website or in its publications.

The traveling fellowship must be used in the year for which it is designated. It cannot be postponed.

An unsuccessful applicant may reapply three times and only by completing and submitting a new application with new supporting documentation. A successful applicant may not reapply.
