October is Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Month. For this year’s campaign, the Committee on Intimate Partner Violence hosted a webinar on Financial Abuse.
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) affects surgeons and their friends, family members, and patients. Surgeons, physicians, and healthcare professionals can change an individual’s life by effectively identifying people who have sustained IPV and referring them to the appropriate resources. IPV is more than physical abuse; it includes financial abuse, too. In this webinar, a panel of surgeons and a legal expert discuss financial abuse and how surgeons can protect their assets and themselves from perpetrators. The webinar concludes with an audience Q&A.
