ACS-AEI Curriculum Committee Online Curriculum Development Tool Template Now Available

On July 12, 2022, staff sent an email announcing the release of the ACS-AEI Curriculum Committee Online Curriculum Development Tool (OCDT) Template to all AEIs for use among its colleagues and faculty.

The Curriculum Committee's Task Force developed a simulation-based curriculum development template tool to assist faculty at AEIs in using a standardized approach when creating simulation-based clinical training courses. This OCDT Template has been designed to be user-friendly and to use a stepwise approach to develop curriculum that incorporates features to increase simulation effectiveness and to help meet academic and accreditation requirements.

The OCDT is housed within a Survey Monkey platform, which prompts the author to fill in information based on questions asked as the curricula is developed. The data is stored at the ACS and will not be shared with anyone unless requested by the respective AEI. If an AEI would like a copy of the completed template for its records, they can request a PDF version. We can also provide an Excel spreadsheet with the raw data as to what was entered into the template to create the curricula. Both can be requested at edinstitutes@facs.org.

You are encouraged to share the OCDT Template link with your colleagues who may want to develop curriculum using the online template. Additionally, take some time to go through this tool so you are familiar, should there be any questions after sharing it.

We would like to thank the following individuals that worked on its creation from concept to final product.
