ACS-AEI Curriculum Committee's New Toolkit Will Be Piloted Early Fall

The ACS-AEI Curriculum Committee is in the process of finalizing its curriculum toolkit, "Interpersonal and Communication Skills Curriculum: Successfully Engaging Your Patient, Patient's Family, and Colleagues."

This curriculum focuses on three modules of communication that can be challenging for residents: breaking bad news, hand-offs, and informed consent. The curriculum will be piloted by members of the Curriculum Committee at their AEIs starting early fall. The goal is to provide the curriculum to all AEIs this fall so it can be used as a part of any residency training program.

The ACS-AEI program would like to thank the following individuals who served on the Planning Committee for their dedication in developing this essential resource:

Jane M. Eggerstedt, MD, FACS

Gladys Fernandez, MD

Antonio Gangemi, MD, FACS

Aimee K. Gardner, PhD

Nehal Khamis, MD, PhD, MHPE

James N. Lau, MD, MHPE, FACS

Luis Llerena, MD, FACS

John T. Paige, MD, FACS

Col. (Ret.) Robert M. Rush, MD, FACS

Rachel Yudkowsky, MD, MHPE
