CoC Recognizes Accredited Sites

ACS Cancer Programs is seeking nominations for committee leadership positions and new volunteers for committee membership.

In the May issue of the Bulletin of the American College of Surgeons, authors from the Cancer Surgery Standards Program discuss the newly published cancer surgery protocols that serve as a beneficial resource for surgeons and trainees.

The Commission on Cancer (CoC) hosted its Annual Spring Meeting in Chicago on May 18. Members received updates on the ACS Quality Campaign, National Cancer Database (NCDB), surgical standards, ACS Cancer Research Program evaluation of CoC standards, and CoC structural and committee changes.

The US Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) has recently released updated draft guidelines for screening for breast cancer.

An opinion piece by Mehra Golshan, MD, MBA, FACS, a breast cancer surgeon at Yale School of Medicine and chair of the NAPBC Education Committee, was recently published in the New York Times.

The ACS NAPBC recognizes these sites for demonstrating their commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered cancer care to patients and the community by recently earning NAPBC reaccreditation.
