Genomic testing (tumor biomarker testing) and genetic testing for an inherited mutation can be essential components in achieving optimum treatment outcomes. Helping patients understand and access testing, consider its psychological implications, and make decisions about care, are key.

To empower providers to better communicate with patients about these complex concepts, Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper have partnered to present a free webinar, Unraveling the Strand: Navigating Genomic and Genetic Testing With Your Patients, on May 17 at 11:00 am CT with experts Generosa Grana, MD, FACP, and Evelyn Robles-Rodriguez, DNP, APN, AOCN, both of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and members of LBBC’s medical advisory board. Barriers in access to testing among patients from racial and ethnic minority groups will also be addressed.
