Register Today for Patient Navigation Bootcamp

March 7, 2024

The American Cancer Society Leadership in Oncology (ACS LIONTM) has partnered with the Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators (AONN+) for an inaugural bootcamp, Building Sustainable Navigation 101. Applications are now open for this free program and all organizations that provide cancer-directed therapy are eligible to apply.

The four-week session will support oncology practices in laying the groundwork for an effective patient navigation program. The bootcamp will convene participating teams for weekly virtual meetings focused on developing a compelling business case for cancer navigation, including reimbursement strategies and staffing models.

Key Details and Dates:

  • Application due date: March 15
  • Announcement of participants: March 25
  • Bootcamp term: April 8–May 8
  • Modality: Virtual learning activities, with weekly sessions featuring a mix of expert presentations and group sharing  
  • Cost: There is no cost to participate

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts & Figures 2023, there will be an estimated 288,300 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the US and 34,700 men will die from the disease this year.
