2024 ACS Cancer Conference: A Great Success!

March 7, 2024

Nearly 500 people attended the 2024 ACS Cancer Conference, February 22–24 in Austin, Texas. Participants—including all members of the multidisciplinary care teams at healthcare facilities that treat patients with cancer—learned about the latest updates and innovations from all ACS Cancer Programs, including the Commission on Cancer (CoC), National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), National Accreditation for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), ACS Cancer Research Program, Cancer Surgery Standards Program (CSSP), and the American Joint Committee on Cancer.

In addition, James L. Gulley, MD, PhD, Clinical Director and Co-Director for the Center for Immuno-Oncology at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) (pictured above), presented the conference’s keynote address.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts & Figures 2023, there will be an estimated 288,300 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the US and 34,700 men will die from the disease this year.
