Report Outlines Significant Cancer Trends

In the latest episode of Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS) podcast The Operative Word, host Lillian Erdahl, MD, FACS, is joined by ACS Cancer Research Program Chair Judy Boughey, MD, FACS,  to discuss Dr. Boughey’s recent JACS article, “American College of Surgeons Cancer Programs Annual Report from 2021 Participant User File.”

This inaugural annual report from the National Cancer Database summarizes new observations and recent trends in overall cancer diagnoses, patient demographics, and treatment, as well as trends for breast, colon, and pancreatic cancers.

New Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Marketing Tools Available

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts & Figures 2023, there will be an estimated 288,300 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the US and 34,700 men will die from the disease this year.
