Cancer Programs Quality Improvement Update

February 22, 2024

  • The deadline to sign up for Commission on Cancer (COC) Standard 5.8 Lung Nodal, Operative, Dissection, Evaluation, and Staging (NODES) National Quality Improvement Project is February 29. Visit the project website to find additional information, including a sample letter of support.
  • The deadline for the Breaking Barriers Year 2 application and the new sites’ retrospective data is March 1.
  • Register today for the Findings and Next Steps from the Just ASK/Beyond ASK Quality Improvement Initiative webinar at 12 pm CT on March 8 .
  • Integrated Network Cancer Programs (INCP) must complete applications at a “child” level to participate in any national QI project. Questions can be sent to cancerqi@facs.org.

New Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Marketing Tools Available

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts & Figures 2023, there will be an estimated 288,300 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the US and 34,700 men will die from the disease this year.
