National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers

NAPBC Releases Updated Standards

February 20, 2025

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) has released an updated version of its accreditation standards, Optimal Resources for Breast Care (2024 Standards). The updated standards are now available on the NAPBC website.

As communicated in recent notifications, the NAPBC has retired Standard 8.2: Continuing Education. NAPBC programs are no longer required to meet compliance with this standard. This update to the standards removes Standard 8.2.

All resources supporting the NAPBC Standards have also been updated to reflect the retirement of Standard 8.2. Those resources are now available in the “Resources” section of the Quality Portal.

Questions regarding the NAPBC accreditation standards should be submitted through the CAnswer Forum.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts & Figures 2023, there will be an estimated 288,300 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the US and 34,700 men will die from the disease this year.
