ACS Quality Programs Accreditation Visits Drive Systemic Quality Improvement

ACS Quality Programs are well known for setting standards of surgical quality and improving patient outcomes—but efforts to achieve accreditation reveal a significant impact. Listen to Dr. Brett Johnson discuss his recent Journal of the American College of Surgeons article, “Evaluating Initial Site Visit Pass Rate Across American College of Surgeons Accreditation Programs,” which reveals that the initial preparation for an accreditation, or particularly remediation to achieve accreditation after a failed visit, drive systemic quality improvement in and of themselves, in addition to ongoing quality benefits.
