Attend History and Archives Committee Events at Clinical Congress

The ACS has long recognized the importance of preserving and studying surgical history. The ACS History and Archives Committee (HAC) advances that work by promoting research, preserving historical resources, and incorporating an appreciation of surgical history into surgical education.

The HAC Outreach and Inclusion Subcommittee is expanding those efforts by sharing stories, vignettes, and highlights from ACS history. Historical features from the subcommittee will appear periodically in the ACS Brief.

At Clinical Congress 2026 in Washington, DC, attendees can engage with surgical history through several programs organized by or related to the HAC. The events include:
