Apply to Become Medical Director, Military Health System Strategic Partnership

The ACS is accepting applications through December 16, 2022, for a Medical Director of its established Military Health System (MHS) Strategic Partnership with the Department of Defense (DoD). This 50% full-time equivalent position is within the Division of Member Services and will work out of the ACS headquarters office in Chicago, IL.

The Medical Director must be a Fellow of the ACS and will be responsible for advancing and fostering military readiness through the comprehensive management, strategic development, programmatic planning, and reporting of the partnership.

Along with the DoD Co-Chair, the Medical Director will maintain and advance clinical knowledge and skills critical to the readiness of the MHS and develop relationships internally and externally to positively impact the civilian healthcare system. Working with all ACS divisions and areas, the medical director also will be responsible for the ongoing strategic development and management of the partnership across programmatic activities, including surgical education, surgical quality, trauma, and growth of the military surgical society.
