Brief Survey Can Help Build High-Quality Surgeon Compensation Data

October 20, 2026

Employers come to the negotiation table armed with compensation data, and surgeons should do the same. Through November 14, eligible ACS Fellows and Associate Fellows can complete the Resolve-powered ACS Compensation Survey to help build more relevant benchmarks across specialties, regions, and practice settings.

Backed by Resolve, the survey asks about compensation and employment terms, including base pay, incentive compensation, call pay, and productivity measures. The ACS Compensation Dashboard, expected in January 2027, will let members compare elements of their compensation with data reported by surgeons with similar characteristics.

Resolve administers the survey on behalf of the ACS. Responses are de-identified on receipt and reported only in aggregate; they are not linked to membership records or shared with employers or recruiters. Members who complete the survey by November 14 will be entered into a drawing for a Resolve physician contract review.
