The ACS Commission on Cancer (CoC) is seeking dedicated physicians who specialize in cancer care to serve as Site Reviewers.

CoC Site Reviewers conduct site visits in hospitals across the country, assessing compliance with the accreditation standards that promote quality patient care. They enjoy the gratifying opportunity to shape the future of cancer care by collaborating with cancer programs in areas such as research, data surveillance and systems, quality improvement, and education.

Nearly 1,400 hospitals and cancer centers are accredited by the CoC in the US and treat diagnoses through a multidisciplinary approach involving surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists.

The CoC welcomes applicants who are:

  • An actively practicing (treating, teaching, or administrative role) physician who specializes in cancer care
  • Employed by or affiliated with a CoC-accredited program

According to CoC Site Reviewer Maureen Killackey, MD, FACS, FACOG, “I think it's a tremendous opportunity to learn and to listen about what's going on beyond your own clinic or your own facility. There are so many best practices, so many tips. Every program, I learn something.”

New Site Reviewers will receive onboarding training and be mentored by an experienced Site Reviewer. To read more about the required qualifications and responsibilities, visit Commission on Cancer Site Reviewers. Contact coc@facs.org with any questions.
