Apply to Join ACS Committee on Diversity Issues to Help Address Healthcare Disparities

The ACS Committee on Diversity Issues is now accepting applications for new members, and applications are due Wednesday, June 15. The mission of the committee is to study the educational and professional needs of underrepresented surgeons and surgical trainees and the impact that its work may have on the elimination of health disparities among diverse population groups.  They seek new members with experience in engaging and leading individuals in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work; members with knowledge, expertise, and available time to develop and support programming with a DEI lens in the following areas: LGBTQIA+, under-represented in medicine, leadership development, and professional development; and members with leadership experience connected to DEI.
