Register today for Fundamentals of Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, a hands-on course for surgeons who want to incorporate oncoplastic breast surgical techniques into their practice.
This hybrid course is for general and breast surgeons who have never performed oncoplastic surgery. A review of fundamental elements of oncoplastic breast surgery will include applied anatomy, imaging, patient assessment and patient selection.
During hands-on surgical skills lab, June 19 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, participants will perform skin marking, glandular displacement techniques for intramammary flaps, aesthetic incision placement, and periareolar, crescent and donut mammaplasty. Also, participants will learn simple techniques to improve lumpectomy results and management of excess skin, "dog-ears," and tissue during simple mastectomy without reconstruction.
The online didactic lectures, to be watched prior to the in-person lab, will cover basic and often used oncoplastic techniques, as well as office-management pearls such as assembling and developing a multidisciplinary team and building functional referral networks.
Course registration is $2,130. Space is limited, so register today.
