New physicians seeking to begin their surgical residencies with confidence are encouraged to participate in a new ACS Residency Readiness Course. This 3-day, in-person course will be held in June in order to give graduating fourth-year medical students a last-minute booster of preparation before they start their surgical intern year in July.

Hosted at ACS Headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, June 15–17, the program combines hands-on skills training with practical sessions focused on the clinical and professional expectations of residency. Participants will work through real-world call scenarios, review core postoperative care principles, get feedback on basic technical skills, and learn strategies for navigating their new responsibilities—so they can hit the ground running. Designed for students between graduation and residency start, this course helps build technical ability, clinical judgment, and confidence.

If you or someone you know would be interested in participating in this course or would like additional information, contact cbuchignani@facs.org.
