Apply by Friday for Health Policy Scholarships

The ACS and 15 surgical specialty organizations provide annual scholarships in the amount of $8,000 each to subsidize attendance and participation in the Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. This year, the course will take place June 3-8. 

The deadline to apply for the 2024 course scholarships is Friday, March 15.

Two scholarships are available for general surgeons from the ACS, and additional scholarships are provided jointly from the ACS and each of the following:

  • American Association for the Surgery of Trauma
  • American Association of Neurological Surgeons
  • American Pediatric Surgical Association
  • American Society of Breast Surgeons
  • American Society of Plastic Surgeons
  • Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma
  • Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract
  • American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery
  • Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association
  • American Surgical Association
  • American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons
  • American Urogynecologic Society
  • New England Surgical Society
  • The Society of Thoracic Surgeons
  • Society for Vascular Surgery

Applicants must be members in good standing in the corresponding organization(s) and age 30–60 years on the date the application is filed. Surgeons can apply for more than one award if they meet the eligibility requirements, but only one scholarship will be awarded per applicant per year.
