Jack King, MBA, joins the ACS executive leadership team on July 10 as the inaugural Chief Information Officer (CIO).

As someone who is passionate about the transformative power of a data-driven culture, King has an impressive 30-year career demonstrating technological modernization and innovation. Most recently, he was the CIO for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Prior to that, he was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Broward Health in Florida and CIO/CTO for the State of Illinois.

King has a bachelor of science degree in business and organizational management, as well as a master of business administration degree. Additionally, he holds executive certificates in management, leadership, strategy, and innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

As CIO, King will facilitate the ACS’s strategy to aggressively pursue innovation that will modernize its information systems, integrate data across all divisions and programs, and align business and technology strategies so that the College is recognized for its superior attention to quality improvement and care for the surgical patient.
