The ACS Resident and Associate Society (RAS-ACS) and the Young Fellows Association recently have started accepting applications for leadership positions within the respective College leadership groups. Surgeons who are interested in being a part of ACS leadership and who fit the demographic requirements are encouraged to apply for the following positions.
The RAS Executive Committee Secretary is a 3-year commitment with 1-year consecutive terms as Secretary, Vice-Chair, and Chair of the Executive Committee. Successful applicants are actively engaged in RAS activities during the past year and serve on a RAS standing committee. During their term, the Executive Committee Secretary is expected to attend all virtual and in-person meetings, as well as actively participate in the leadership of RAS. Applications are due by July 23.
RAS Liaisons are appointed to committees, workgroups, advisory councils, and task forces across ACS. Volunteers are needed to fill 15 positions for 3-year terms beginning in October and ending in 2026. Applications are due by July 31.
This is an open call for volunteers to join the YFA Governing Council, which serves membership by developing programs and initiatives that meet the needs of early career surgeons, and by representing their specific needs to ACS leadership. Young (under 46 years old), dynamic leaders are requested to help shape the future of surgical care.
Volunteers are needed to fill two positions for 3-year terms that will begin in October and end in 2026.
Applications are due by July 31.
This is an open call for volunteers to serve as a YFA Liaison, who are appointed to ACS committees, workgroups, and advisory councils. Liaisons serve a vital role: they represent the unique concerns of Young Fellows throughout the College and keep YFA members apprised of ACS initiatives and opportunities.
Volunteers are needed to fill 19 positions for 3-year terms that will begin this October and end in 2026. Applications are due by July 31.
