It is important to set goals that protect your financial future and reward your hard work, and mid-career is the ideal time to start preparing for financial security and personal fulfillment.

The ACS is hosting a webinar 1:00–2:00 pm CT on Wednesday, February 11, that will provide answers and practical strategies for building a personalized plan to transition out of practice.

Speakers will include surgeons and financial experts:

  • Eva Chalas, MD, FACS, will share insights from her experience, observations of colleagues, and educational resources. She’ll explain why transition planning should begin 5–10 years before your expected retirement date to ensure a smooth, satisfying shift without regret over lost prestige.
  • Michael Krantz, a Medicare advisor, will outline steps for transitioning to Medicare and why professional guidance is essential, especially if you or your partner has chronic conditions. He’ll cover comprehensive coverage options, including supplemental plans.
  • Christopher Tasik, a certified financial planner will discuss strategies to protect your financial future, manage risk, and shield your assets from the unexpected, and build a retirement plan that supports your lifestyle now and in retirement.

Early and mid-career surgeons who would benefit from financial advice, surgeons transitioning out of practice, and anyone who wishes to take control of their financial and personal future are encouraged to attend.

Register here and learn how to set yourself up for success.

This webinar was coordinated by the newly establish ACS Senior Fellow Society (SFS), which offers senior surgeons the opportunity to engage with each other and share their knowledge and experience with younger surgeons. Learn more about the SFS.
