Thursday: Learn about Intraoperative Teaching Methods with Virtual Panel Discussion

The ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators Grand Rounds Series will present a virtual panel discussion that will explore the different methods and the literature on intraoperative teaching this coming Thursday, February 22, at 7:00 pm CT.

Paula Ferrada, MD, FACS, FCCM, Jeffrey Matthews, MD, FACS, and Dimitrios Stefanidis, MD, PhD, FACS, FASMBS, will lead the panel, moderated by Dr. Mohsen Shabahang, with welcoming remarks by Dr. Ajit K. Sachdeva.

The panelists are experienced surgeon educators. Dr. Ferrada currently serves as the division and system chief for acute care surgery and trauma for the Inova healthcare system and as a professor of Medical Education for the University of Virginia, Dr. Matthews is the Dallas B. Phemister Distinguished Service Professor, chair of the Department of Surgery, and surgeon-in-chief of The University of Chicago Medicine, and Dr. Stefanidis is professor of surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine, past-president of the Association for Surgical Education, and founding editor-in-chief for Global Surgical Education – The Journal of the Association for Surgical Education.
