Apply by December 16 for ACS Medical Director of Military Health System Strategic Partnership

The ACS is accepting applications for a Medical Director of its established Military Health System Strategic Partnership, American College of Surgeons (MHSSPACS) with the Department of Defense (DoD). This 50% full-time equivalent position is within the Division of Member Services and will work out of the ACS headquarters office in Chicago, IL. The December 16, 2022 deadline to apply is fast approaching.

The Medical Director must be a Fellow of the ACS and will be responsible for advancing and fostering military readiness through the comprehensive management, strategic development, programmatic planning, and reporting of the partnership.

Along with the DoD and ACS Co-Chairs, the Medical Director will maintain and advance clinical knowledge and skills critical to the readiness of the MHS and develop relationships internally and externally to positively impact the civilian healthcare system.

The Medical Director is responsible for the ongoing implementation of strategic priorities set by the Co-Chairs and the Executive Leadership Committee. Working with all ACS divisions and areas, the Medical Director also will be responsible for the ongoing strategic development and management of the partnership across programmatic activities, including surgical education, surgical quality, trauma, and growth of the military surgical society.
