Register today for the Common Bile Duct Exploration (CBDE) course, featuring recorded didactic lectures and a hands-on skills lab. The course will be held 1:00–5:15 pm PT on Thursday, February 12, at the University of California, Los Angeles Center for Advanced Surgical Interventional Technology, an ACS Accredited Education Institute.

This hybrid course will review the indications for, and technical steps needed, to perform a laparoscopic choledochotomy or transcystic duct common bile duct exploration. Course attendees will participate in techniques involving fluorescent cholangiography, performing an intraoperative cholangiogram and interpretation, choledochoscopy, and biliary calculus extraction. The course chair is Raul Rosenthal, MD, FACS.

At the conclusion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the benefits of a one-stage approach in the management of choledocholithiasis
  • Interpret common findings seen on intraoperative cholangiogram
  • Identify essential equipment required to perform a fluorescent cholangiogram, as well as an intraoperative cholangiogram and common bile duct exploration
  • Describe the steps required to perform common bile duct exploration (choledochotomy, transcystic, choledochoscopy)

Registration is $1,775 for ACS members and $2,130 for nonmembers, with an opportunity to claim up to 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Space is limited, so register today.
