The road from medical student, to resident, to independent practicing surgeon is a challenging one necessitating that a trainee and early career surgeon understand not only surgical procedures, but also the nuances of professional life.
To help residents and young surgeons navigate this critical period, the Resident and Associate Society of the ACS (RAS-ACS) provides the RAS Curated Resource Library. This useful collection contains information on webinars, videos, courses, publications, scholarships, and more that members have identified as resources every trainee and young surgeon should know about. You can filter the library—by career stage, surgical, discipline, and so on—and search using keywords to locate exactly what you need.
These resources were identified by RAS members like you as having great value for trainees and early-career surgeons. In addition, each item was categorized by RAS members to help you explore the wide range of offerings. Select a resource to view a brief description and button that will take you to more information or to associated media.
To access video resources on a wide range of topics, click on the “Resource Type” drop down menu and choose “Video.” You will be provided with links to videos including, among many others:
There are also several useful videos pertaining to financial literacy, clinical care, and much more.
Access to the library is limited to ACS members only. If you are not currently logged in to your member account, you will be asked to do so.
