Register for the 2023 ACS Quality and Safety Conference

April 25, 2023

Healthcare professionals dedicated to raising the bar on the quality of surgical care and patient safety are invited to attend the 2023 ACS Quality and Safety Conference, July 10–13 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minnesota. Registration is now open.

This year’s conference theme, The Patient Voice, will be featured prominently as surgeons, nurses, quality improvement (QI) professionals, and other healthcare providers share their knowledge and experience to help improve care of the surgical patient.

Sessions at this year’s conference will feature content from several ACS Quality Programs, including the Quality Verification Program, National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, and more.

A new track this year, Emergency General Surgery (EGS), will focus on content from the EGS Verification Program; the Quality Improvement Principles track will feature the new ACS Quality Framework and toolkit.

Plenary sessions will include:

  • Recently launched ACS Power of Quality campaign
  • Equity in Quality
  • Moving Beyond Traditional Leadership
  • Latest QI Discoveries
  • Importance of Good Data

Other Conference Highlights

Back by popular demand, the QI Basics Preconference Workshop will be held as a two-part series on the afternoon of Sunday, July 9, and the morning of Monday, July 10. In addition, a new QI Basics Residents Preconference Workshop will focus on elements of QI that are the most important for surgical residents. All workshop participants will be given access to the QI Basics online course.

This year, the conference will feature expanded abstract and poster submission categories, including Health Equity and Access and Health Informatics for Quality. Selected abstracts will be shared during 20 quickshot-style sessions.

The meeting offers a premier opportunity to learn about the ACS Quality Programs and sign up for consultations with ACS staff from the statistics, clinical support, and registry operations teams. In addition, the event will provide networking breaks and events throughout the week.

Attendees can claim educational credits for up to 90 days after the conference.
