The ACS Leadership & Advocacy Summit begins in 12 days. Don’t miss your opportunity to expand your leadership impact by taking part in one or both programs.

The Leadership Summit is on Sunday, April 14, at the newly renovated Westin, Washington DC Downtown Hotel. In-person and virtual options are available for ACS members worldwide, and the best news is that registration is FREE for ACS members.

Compelling speakers will offer real-world expertise and skills-building guidance. Presentations include:

  • Moving Forward after Moral Injury: A Leader’s Perspective—Sunil K. Geevarghese, MD, MSCI, FACS
  • Sustainability in Healthcare: Where We Are and Where We Want to Be—Robin Blackstone, MD, FACS
  • Surgeons as CEO: Career Paths to the Corner Office—Panel discussion moderated by Timothy J. Babineau, MD, MBA, FACS

Access to the Leadership Summit recordings will be available soon after the event and accessible for 3 months for registrants.

The Advocacy Summit begins Sunday night with a welcome reception and keynote dinner featuring Anna Palmer, co-founder and CEO of Punchbowl News, a membership-based organization offering Washington insider news and analyses. Its name came from the Secret Service nickname—Punchbowl—which refers to the Capitol.

On Monday, a full day of presentations will include panels on how to advance the ACS agenda in a divided Congress and artificial intelligence and healthcare policy. On Tuesday, attendees will head to Capitol Hill for meetings with members of Congress and their staff advisors.

The Advocacy Summit portion is in-person only and for US-based ACS members only. Registration fees are based on member type.

In addition, Preconference Workshops will be offered on Saturday. Registration and additional fees will be charged. Sessions include practice management, controlling risk, and media/social media training.
