Variability of Prophylactic Inferior Vena Cava Filter Use in Young Trauma Patients: Analysis of the Consortium of Leaders in the Study of Traumatic Thromboembolism Database

This CLOTT study is a prospective, multi-center, observational trial that examined the use of prophylactic inferior vena cava filters for post traumatic venous thromboembolism. The authors identify wide variability in use and suggest indications for insertion of inferior vena cava filters to standardize venous thromboembolism management.
