Excelsior Surgical Society Officer Nominations

Holding Elected Office in the Excelsior Surgical Society

The Officers of this Excelsior Surgical Society shall be:

  • President
  • Vice President (who shall be designated the President-Elect)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Councilperson at Large, Air Force
  • Councilperson at Large, Army
  • Councilperson at Large, Navy
  • Councilperson at Large, Reserve/National Guard
  • Councilperson at Large, Civilian
  • Councilperson at Large, Resident/Fellow

Eligibility

  • Officers must be on active duty, active reserve, or active National Guard status for the tenure of the office. Trainees may not hold an elected officer position other than Resident/Fellow Councilperson at Large.
  • Officers must be a member in good standing with the American College of Surgeons.

Election

The members at the annual meeting, duly held upon regular call and notice, shall elect all officers of the society for terms of two years or until their successors are elected and qualified. There shall be a progression of the Vice President (President-Elect) who shall become the President at the end of a one-year term as Vice President (President-Elect). Nominations from the floor at the business meeting are permitted. Elections will be held during the 2021 Excelsior Symposium.

Officer Elections

Officer elections will be held during the virtual 2021 Excelsior Symposium. Officer nominations will be open on September 1, 2021.

  1. Nominations can be submitted via SurveyMonkey. Click here for the 2021-2023 Nominations Form.
  2. Nominations close on October 23, 2021, at the adjournment of the Business Meeting.
  3. Voting opens via SurveyMonkey on October 23, 2021, following the Business Meeting. Voting link will be distributed to Excelsior members via email.
  4. Voting closes on October 24, 2021, at 1300 EDT.
