Home for Military Surgeons

Medicine is constantly changing, particularly military medicine. As the military society of the ACS, the Excelsior Surgical Society provides a voice and a home for all military surgeons within the largest surgical organization in the world. The Excelsior Surgical Society supports surgeons at two key stages of their careers: as they pursue membership in the College and as they transition from military service into civilian practice. Additionally, in today’s evolving environment, the Military-Civilian Partnership is now as important as ever.

Fellowship, Mentorship, and Education

We strive to improve surgical education both on and off the battlefield by collaborating on issues that are pertinent to today’s active duty surgeon. While this may include preparedness for combat surgery, it also has to do with quality assurance for non-combat surgery, patient safety, and the incorporation of new surgical techniques and technology.
