Medical Student Travel Award

 The Division of Member Services has established the Medical Student Travel Award for Clinical Congress 2026, a unique opportunity designed to support a medical student interested in surgery and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) mission. The Awardee will be able to attend Clinical Congress 2026 in Washington, DC from September 26-29, 2026, and gain valuable insights and connections.

The Awardee will receive $2,000 to cover flight, hotel, and reasonable travel expenses. All receipts must be submitted to the ACS with unused funds within 45 days of Clinical Congress.

Application Terms and Requirements: 

• This award is only open to all domestic medical student members in years 1-3.
• Applicants must be a current member of the American College of Surgeons

Application Process: The application closes on Monday, March 23, at 11:59 pm CT.

Submission Material:

• Essay submission should be 300 words or less and should include the following:
  • Describe your interest in surgery
  • Describe how you will utilize this opportunity to meet possible mentors (residents/attendings)
