The Miriam Hospital will be the Mastery in General Surgery Program site for the entire year. The year will be spent on the two general surgery services. One service has a bariatric and foregut focus and the other focuses on vascular and thoracic surgery.

Incoming Junior Associates will be proctored until competency is confirmed. A number of different cases among the spectrum of general surgical practice will be honed over the course of the program based on the Junior Associate’s needs and career goals. The Junior Associate will be at Miriam Hospital, and the Senior Associates will be responsible for assessing the capabilities of the incoming Junior Associate throughout the course of the program.

The Miriam Hospital offers a wide variety of general surgical cases, and the Senior Associate can help facilitate exposure to this case load.
