Clinical Congress traditionally begins with an Opening Ceremony that recognizes prominent surgeons and offers updates on the ACS delivered by Executive Director and CEO Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS.

This year, Dr. Turner’s remarks will include updates on the College’s achievements throughout the past year, exciting news about its latest offerings, her vision for the future, and information on ACS goals and priorities.

The ceremony will begin at 8:00 am, in Room W-375de. All Clinical Congress attendees are highly encouraged to attend.

Anton N. Sidawy, MD, MPH, FACS, who was installed as the 106th President of the ACS at Convocation yesterday, will preside over the Opening Ceremony. Dr. Sidawy will introduce the seven newly inducted Honorary Fellows initiated at Convocation and recognize past and present ACS officers. Domestic and international scholars and invited special guests from national and international medical and surgical specialty organizations also will be recognized.

The Martin Memorial Lecture, which will follow immediately in the same location, will be delivered by David J. Skorton, MD, president and chief executive officer of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
