An Affiliate Member is a non-FACS, non-surgeon who is committed to supporting the goals of the Academy.
Selection Criteria
The following criteria will be used in selecting candidates for Affiliate Membership in the Academy. A curriculum vitae and personal statement supporting the goals of the Academy (via completion of an online application) and letters of reference will be reviewed.
Background and Discipline
Expert from one of the following fields
- Health professions education
- Bioengineering/material science
- Law
- Technology
- Basic science
- Administration
- Ergonomics
- Other disciplines with the potential to impact surgical education and training
Achievements and Contributions
- Leadership position in national or international organizations whose principal focus is education
- Position in industry or academia that advance the goals of the Academy
- Scholarship in a field applicable to surgical education and training
Current Contributions
- Provide a description of your current position and/or efforts as they relate to surgical education
