The New ACS Brand Identity

To complement the new American College of Surgeons website, the ACS has launched a modernized visual identity system for the our brand, which expresses the College's legacy, mission, and values in a contemporary, clear style. The new design creates an immediately recognizable and distinctive look and feel for the College, while establishing a unified design style and process for all ACS programs.

The Logo

The ACS logo is designed around three primary elements:

  • The Initials, which reflect the traditional Roman capitals used in the ACS Seal of 1915
  • The Slash Mark, which organizes the design, and represents the precision of the surgeon
  • The Full Name, which is presented in modern but timeless sans-serif capitals

Brand Colors

The new ACS brand colors—a primary palette of deep blue, vivid red, and cooler grey blue—were chosen to present a classic, contemporary palette that reflects the College's motto, To Heal All with Skill and Trust.
