The ACS strategic plan—launched in mid-2025 after an 18-month effort by multiple stakeholders, including the Board of Regents, Past Presidents, Board of Governors, Young Fellows Association, Resident and Associate Society, committee members, and staff executives—highlights four main pillars that define our goals and will serve as guideposts toward achieving our vision.
By advancing surgical excellence and innovation, as well as empowering healthcare professionals with data-driven insights, high-quality care will be prioritized and patient trust will be enhanced.
By delivering timely, evidence-based training and education through accessible and modernized platforms, surgeons in all disciplines and career stages will be prepared for current and future roles and challenges.
By investing in technology and research and fostering a culture of innovation, the ACS will accelerate the agile delivery of products and programs for all of its members.
By leveraging our collective influence as The House of Surgery® and collaborating with other societies, the ACS will protect and advance surgeons’ roles as leaders of the care team, advocating for policies and practices that uphold member integrity and foster patient trust.
Initiatives conducted throughout these four strategic pillars will be built on data-driven operational excellence and the continued development and well-being of staff, empowering them to drive innovation, inclusive excellence, and value across all strategic pillars.
