How to Nominate

The Honors Committee is a Regental Committee responsible for administering and recommending nominees for seven College awards and honors to the Board of Regents for their final approval:

Thoughtful consideration by Fellows of the College is solicited and greatly appreciated by the Honors Committee and Board of Regents. We ask that you consider and submit names of candidates fitting the criteria associated with the specific award or honor, along with support documentation (two letters of support, which specifically list accomplishments of a nominate and detail in what manner they meet the criteria for the award or honor; a nominee’s most recent Curriculum Vitae; and, if available, a short biography), for any of these seven awards and/or honors. Please note that nominations do not automatically lead to selection and not all awards or honors are presented annually. Several awards are presented entirely on merit (i.e.; Lifetime Achievement Award, Distinguished Lifetime Military Contribution Award). Nominations are carried forward for three to five years and you are encouraged to resubmit a new letter of support if you believe your original nomination is past this time frame.

Process for Submitting Nominations

For all of the aforementioned awards and honors, nominations are accepted year-round. Please send nomination letters of support addressed to Dr. Valerie W. Rusch, Chair of the Honors Committee and President of the College, along with the appropriate biographical information (current Curriculum Vitae, bibliography, short biography (if applicable), a description and dates of nominee’s innovation/achievement, etc.) to Ms. Donna Coulombe, Sr. Special Projects Manager, Executive Services, as the ACS Staff Liaison to the Honors Committee. As much as possible, we ask that a nominator keep the nomination confidential from the proposed nominee or candidate.

For additional information or assistance, please contact Ms. Coulombe by telephone at 312-202-5204 or by email at dcoulombe@facs.org.

Award Deadlines

The Honors Committee accepts nominations year-round for all awards and honors under their discretion. However, Honorary Fellows-Elect are historically selected at the annual October meeting of the Honors Committee preceding year of induction.

Please submit nomination packages as detailed above. For more information about the Honors Committee or assistance with a nomination submission, please contact Donna Coulombe at dcoulombe@facs.org or 312-202-5204.
