Committee on Global Engagement through Operation Giving Back

The primary function of the Committee on ACS Global Engagement through Operation Giving Back is to provide support to the Medical Director of Operation Giving Back (OGB) for development and implementation of strategic initiatives in the following areas:

1. International volunteerism and global engagement
2. Domestic volunteerism programs
3. Disaster management programs
4. Educational program development for ACS members to prepare them for global or domestic volunteer activity and for international partners
5. Development of partnerships with governmental, nongovernmental organizations, academic institutions, and surgical associations engaged in global and local surgical care for the underserved
6. Advocacy for the medically underserved patient
