The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Centennial celebration was launched during our 2012 Clinical Congress in Chicago, IL, September 30–October 4, 2012, and featured special program sessions, exhibits, and commemorative publications that paid tribute to the College’s 100-year unwavering commitment to improving the quality of care for surgical patients.
In recognition of how the College’s efforts and achievements have significantly influenced the course of surgery in America and around the world, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Illinois Governor Pat Quinn designated September 30–October 4 as “American College of Surgeons Days” in the city and state.
