Join the NTDS Google Group

User Groups

The NTDB provides an opportunity for communicating with the trauma registry community. There is a discussion group courtesy of Google Groups.

We recommend that you join the NTDB Discussion Group to stay up to date on the National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) and the National Trauma Data Standard (NTDS). This allows individuals and organizations to collaborate and interact with each other. We encourage the following individuals to join:

  • Software vendors
  • State Trauma Managers
  • State trauma Data Personnel
  • Hospital Trauma Registry Personnel
  • Other State and Federal Employees

Future content for our website will be gathered from questions and comments resulting from the various discussions. We have a variety of topics designed to fit your needs! If you don’t see one, suggest one! Start communication with others who are involved in the NTDB.

Discussion Group

The NTDB discussion group is a private discussion group and the NTDB regularly monitors the discussion topics as well as the members. The NTDB reserves the right to remove any member for any reason at all. Any offensive remarks or materials will be subject to immediate dismissal.

The Google Group Posting Guidelines are as follows:

  • Posts to this group should be related to the Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), or directly relevant to most subscribers.
  • When possible, do not send e-mails to the entire group when only one individual needs to be contacted. E-mail that individual directly. The usefulness of the group declines if subscribers stop reading e-mails because they receive too many posts.
  • We request that you do not respond to questions about American College of Surgeons (ACS) programs. We would like to be sure these questions are answered consistently by ACS staff and consultants who are accountable for these programs and the data dictionary. This leaves a vast area of discussion for the group.
  • The TQIP Google Group is not a forum for recruiting staff and fielding surveys unless they have been approved by ACS. Please, no product endorsements or in-depth discussions of the pros and cons of software products. Please have those discussions offline.
  • The TQIP Google Group is not a forum for advertising programs, courses, conferences, etc., unless approved by ACS staff.
  • All members must maintain a professional code of conduct at all times.
  • Failure to comply with these posting guidelines could lead to restricted posting privileges or removal of the group by the ACS administrative staff
