Advancing care of older adult patients
The Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV) Program has 32 surgical standards (two of which are optional) designed to improve surgical care and outcomes for older adults. Optimizing surgical care for older adults is critical, as patients 65 years and older account for more than 40% of all inpatient operations (and increasing).
Rochester Regional Health’s Clifton Springs Hospital uses the GSV program to help ensure that patients like Stella and Glen get the specialized care they need. Taking the time to understand their care goals and challenges helped their Rochester team deliver the best possible care.
